Sat, Feb 4: Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Everglades

Then we took an all day tour of the everglades and the estuary which was very interesting – saw around 20 different kinds of birds, lots of alligators including a baby, and dolphins. 

Some of the birds we saw:

Heron, Black Crowned Night
Heron, Great Blue

Pelican, American White
Pelican, Brown

Eagle, Solitary
Hawk, Red-tailed
Hawk, Short-tailed
Osprey
Vulture, Turkey

We saw lots of birds and alligators: 











Then we had a short nature walk:





And saw wildlife on the edge of the road as we were driving to the estuary:


We also took a cruise on the estuary.  More birds, some dolphins, and interesting scenery:








Mary saw a manatee just under the water near the boat as the boat was passing by trying to get the dolphins to ride its wake.
