In
the port:
Driving to Antigua, an potentially active volcano:
We arrived in Antigua, which is at 5,000 feet above sea level, and was a nice 68 degrees F.
A pretty church:
The Cathedral, some of it is in ruins:
A walk around the town square with some very interesting buildings:
Persistant ladies selling wares
And a band playing in the park:
Then we had lunch at a nice restaurant with a pretty garden:
Jade Museum. Mary Lou Ridinger (nee Johnson), discovered the jade quarry sites near here where the Mayans had mined jade.
Santa Catalina Arch, Built in the 17th century,
We think Antigua is worth another, longer visit.
